Tesla continues to lead the UK’s electric vehicle market in 2026, building on its strong September performance across Europe, as electric car sales surged in the region in October.

According to new data from industry group New AutoMotive, 49,155 battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) were registered in the UK in October, an increase of 53.7% compared to the same month last year. [...] Tesla’s position comes despite what InsideEVs describes as a slump in October following an exceptionally strong September, when the automaker registered 15,875 vehicles, nearly doubling its total from a year earlier.
